Dordogne is a water-rich area. La Moulinasse belongs to val de Dronne, the 'valley' of the Dronne. There are several possibilities to explore the area by canoe or kayak. Green and tranquility guaranteed.The kayak association SNPA Aubeterre organizes trips from Aubeterre-sur-Dronne and also offers evening trips and stand up paddle. The organisation and the material are solid.

Périgord Vert is... green. And hilly, with here and there villages around Romanesque fortified churches : a wonderful landscape to walk or cycle through. Around La Moulinasse there are plenty of short and long walks mapped out. We have topographical maps available. On the website of the tourist office of the region you can also download GPS tracks (tip: like every where on the French countryside, our internet connection is rather slow, so it can be useful to download the tracks in advance at home).

Tèrra Avontura is a fun way to walk a few kilometres with children to explore a place while playing . It is a form of geocaching / treasure hunt that uses a free smartphone app to track down so-called Poi'z. A total of 35 of these figures (pins) can be collected all over Aquitaine. Near La Moulinasse there are several caches.

There are plenty of mountain bike trails (VTT) mapped out. In the beautiful and very hilly Montagrier, 20 minutes from La Moulinasse, there is a "centre sports nature" that focuses in particular on VTT. The center rents mountain bikes for big and small. On the website you can download GPS tracks.

Of course you don't have to be a mountain biker at all to make very nice cycling trips. There are plenty of destinations and quiet roads around La Moulinasse or you can follow a signposted cycling route. Zone verte in Saint-Aulaye (at 15') rents out all kinds of bicycles, including electric bikes. Or you can rent bikes for several days via "DispoVelo", "Dordogne cycle hire" (ook elektrische fietsen), "the mountain bikehire company" or "Ouibike". Reservation in time is the message.

VanxYmmersion it is an escape game on the domain of Auberge du Pauly, a nice restaurant barely 2.5km from La Moulinasse. The game is inspired by the film “l'auberge rouge” and the legend of Peyrebeille. The players are locked up in the inn in 1830 and are given 1 hour to escape by solving riddles and tasting. Who can handle it? Tip from the innkeeper: it is also possible to reserve a English version.

Nearby there are several riding stables that also offer the possibility for tourists to go horseback riding or go for a ride with a pony or a carriage.

Lake Jemaye and the Dordogne River and its tributaries are open to fishing (and there are fish!) by anyone who has a fishing permit. This is available in several shops in Ribérac or by the website cartedepeche.fr . In the guide Pêche24 of the Dordogne Fishing Federation all practical information can be found (species, fishing places, where permits can be bought, rates,...). An alternative for beginners: trout fishing at the Moulin de Petit Boissonnie farm.
