Dordogne is a water-rich area. La Moulinasse belongs to val de Dronne, the 'valley' of the Dronne. There are several possibilities to explore the area by canoe or kayak. Green and tranquility guaranteed.
The kayak association SNPA Aubeterre organizes trips from Aubeterre-sur-Dronne and also offers evening trips and stand up paddle. The organisation and the material are solid.

Sud-Charente is nearby. Of course, that department also offers plenty of walking opportunities and special places to discover. For example, the Lac Guizengeard, azure blue water in an abandoned clay quarry, now a protected nature reserve (there is a little map in the information room).

Tèrra Avontura is a fun way to walk a few kilometres with children to explore a place while playing . It is a form of geocaching / treasure hunt that uses a free smartphone app to track down so-called Poi'z. A total of 35 of these figures (pins) can be collected all over Aquitaine. Near La Moulinasse there are several caches.

There are plenty of marked mountain bike trails (VTT). In the beautiful and very hilly Montagrier, 20 minutes from La Moulinasse, you’ll find the “Centre Sports Nature”. The centre rents out mountain bikes for all ages. You can download GPS tracks from the website. During the summer months, a guided tour is organised every Monday at 6 pm (approx. 15 km; mountain bikes are available but has to be booked +33 672 07 86 07).

Of course, you don't have to be a mountain biker at all to do some really nice cycling. There are plenty of destinations and quiet roads around La Moulinasse or you can follow a mapped cycling route. You can rent a mountain bike, electric or otherwise, for one or more days at the "centre sports nature" mentioned above (via the tourist office in Ribérac). Bikes4gites offers bike rental for a minimum of 4 days (delivered to La Moulinasse, also limited supply of electric bikes).

Do you like the way Tarzan swings between the trees (although on a pulley instead of a liana)? In Dordogne there are several accrobranche-courses between the treetops; of course professionally secured. ouble Accro in Saint-Aulaye, a 15-minute drive away, offers different courses for different age groups (from 3 years old) and for different levels of courage. The base de loisirs Poltrot, also 15 minutes from La Moulinasse, offers 2 fun courses. In the direction of Perigueux (Cornille Avonture) and Bergerac (accrozarbres) there are larger parks that offers also laser-games.

VanxYmmersion it is an escape game on the domain of Auberge du Pauly, a nice restaurant barely 2,5km from La Moulinasse (with great icecream). The game is inspired by the film “l'auberge rouge” and the legend of Peyrebeille. The players are locked up in the inn in 1830 and are given 1 hour to escape by solving riddles and tastings. Who can handle it? Tip from the innkeeper: it is also possible to reserve a English version.

Lake Jemaye, the River Dordogne and its tributaries are open to fishing (and there are plenty of fish!) for anyone with a fishing licence. These are available from various shops or via the website cartedepeche.fr . All practical information can be found on the website of the Peche Dordogne federation. An alternative for beginners: trout fishing in the Moulin de Petit Boissonnie fish farm.
